Your Profile Is Your Control Center
The profile page is where you configure everything that affects how AdmitBase works for you. Every setting here has a direct impact on your match scores, the data you see, or the features you can access.
Academic Information
Your GPA and test scores are the core inputs to your match calculations. These are set during onboarding and can be updated anytime from your profile. If you upload a transcript, the calculated GPA from your courses takes precedence over a manually entered number.
URM Status
URM (underrepresented minority) status is a toggle that appears on your profile. It does not change your match score directly — the algorithm is purely quantitative. What it does is flag your profile so that when you view school data, you can mentally adjust expectations based on how that school historically treats URM applicants.
This is a self-reported field. We do not verify it. It exists because it is a meaningful factor in admissions and pretending otherwise would make the tool less useful.
Softs Tier
Softs are the qualitative factors in your application: work experience, extracurriculars, leadership, community service, publications, and so on. We ask you to self-assess into one of four tiers:
- Exceptional — Published research, significant leadership, unusual achievement
- Strong — Meaningful work experience, sustained extracurricular commitment
- Average — Standard college activities, some work experience
- Below Average — Limited activities beyond academics
Like URM status, this does not change your quantitative match score. It provides context for you and, if you enable community sharing, for other applicants viewing comparison data.
Community Sharing
This is the give-to-get toggle. When enabled, your application outcomes (accepted, waitlisted, rejected) are anonymously shared with the community. In return, you get access to the Community Hub and Comparison tool. There is a 30-day grace period if you turn it off — your access does not disappear immediately. For a deeper explanation, see our Community Sharing guide.
Subscription Management
Your current plan is displayed on the profile page. You can upgrade, downgrade, or manage billing through the Stripe customer portal — click "Manage Subscription" to access it. For details on what each tier includes, visit the Pricing page.
